Terms and conditions
The Marins Linguistics Academy police is outlined below. Please read the entire police carefully and don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions that are not not answered here.
Meeting Times and Places
- Online sessions are conducted via Google Meet, Skype, or Zoom.
- In-person sessions are held in designated conference rooms and private offices.
Registration
- After sending the registration form on the website or confirming the course by mail, the student will receive a contract and an invoice detailing the course fees.
- The course fees must be paid in full before the course start date or in monthly installments.
- A legally valid enrollment binds the student to pay the course fees. Non - payment of fees does not count as a cancellation.
Payment
- Prices are exclusive of VAT.Cash payments can not be processed; payment can be made only by bank transfer directly to the company's account.
- An invoice will be provided by email for confirmed payments. The course must be paid before it starts and within 7 days after the invoice date to secure the place.
- All fees are due before the start of the course or must be paid in monthly installments.
- Course packages are payable in advance and should be completed within the specified timeframe. No refunds are provided for unused tuition fees within the six-month period.
- The first monthly installment must be paid before the course start date. The following installments are due each month within 30 days from the last installment.

10% surcharge applies to lessons booked outside core hours (Monday-Friday 08:00-20:00).
Monthly Instalments
- The first installment must be paid before the course start date. The following installments are due each month within 30 days from the last installment.
- Students are not entitled to refunds or cancellations of remaining installments upon premature termination of their course.
Late Entry
- Students may join a course up to 4 weeks after its start date.
- Course fees are calculated from the actual first date of participation on an hourly basis.
Cancellation of Session
- All cancellations must be submitted in writing (via email or letter) to Marins Linguistics Academy. Telephone ancellations will not be accepted.
- The full session price will be charged for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the session.
- For Monday sessions, cancellations must be made by Friday at 6 PM or rescheduled at no additional cost.
- Private lessons not canceled with at least 24 hours' notice will be charged. Up to 4 or 5 cancellations are allowed per month and must be rescheduled within the same month to avoid charges. Ohterwise they are considered as missed.
- For semi-private lessons, both participants must agree to the cancellation. If one participant attends the class, the full lesson fee will be charged.Group sessions proceed as scheduled even if some participants are absent, with no adjustment to the hourly charge.

If a class is canceled due to teacher illness, a credit for that session will be offered.
Change of Course Time/Day
- Appointment postponements must be submitted in writing (via email or letter) to Marins Linguistics Academy. Telephone ancellations will not be accepted.
- Lessons can be postponed free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time (Friday at 6:00 PM for Monday appointments). Postponements made later, due to illness or holidays, will not be accepted, and the canceled lesson will be charged.
- Up to 4 or 5 postponements are allowed per month, with rescheduling required within the same month to avoid charges.
- To change the course time of a private lesson in a group of two, both students must agree on the change of appointment, i. e. the person who is unable to attend the arranged lesson is responsible for contacting their lesson partner and can only change the appointment free of charge with their agreement. Should one or both parties fail to attend without canceling the lesson in time (e. g. due to illness or holiday), it will be charged as a normal lesson.
- Group course lesson times cannot be changed due to illness or holidays.
- For group courses in companies, one course date per semester can be postponed free of charge, provided the teacher is informed 7 days in advance. Later appointment postponement will result in additional charges.
Transfer of Lessons

Transfer of bookings are valid exclusively for the person or persons listed on the invoice and cannot be transferred to another person.
Period of Validity

The period of validity of the course is recorded on the contract and the invoice. Should lessons be canceled due to illness or absence of the course trainer, the canceled lessons will be made up for within the agreed duration of the entire course or, if this is not possible, the course will be extended according to the number of canceled lessons.
Refund Policy
A full refund of tuition fees is granted if the following conditions are met:
- Insufficient participants at the time of registration.
- The planned course does not take place for any reason.
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing by the student.
- For student-initiated cancellations:
- Up to 14 days before the course starts: full refund minus 50 CHF administrative fee.
- Up to 7 days before the course starts: 50% refund minus 50 CHF administrative fee.
- Less than a week before or during the course: no refund, full course fee due.
- Fees cannot be refunded in cases such as failed examinations or premature course termination by the student.
- Marins Linguistics Academy is not responsible for students failing to achieve language proficiency due to missed lessons or lack of commitment.
Holidays
- Marins Linguistics Academy is closed on public holidays. Missed sessions will not be refunded or rescheduled.
- Students wishing to take a holiday must provide 14 days' written notice. Courses can be extended, but no refunds will be issued for the holiday period.
Privacy and Copyright Policy
- Marins Linguistics Academy respects students' privacy rights. Personal data provided will be kept confidential and not disclosed to third parties except when legally required.
- By using this website, you consent to data processing, and all information provided is declared accurate.
- Learning resources provided by Marins Linguistics Academy, whether in paper or digital form, may not be copied, distributed, or sold without written consent.
- Student filming or recording of sessions requires written permission from Marins Linguistics Academy.
- Marins Linguistics Academy may use student photographs for promotional purposes.
Place of Jurisdiction
- Swiss law applies, with Zurich as the court of jurisdiction.
